Grandpa Thorn Pedersen gave the little hay storage barn, boathouse and boathouse landing on the mainland in Oygarden to Einar Haaland, for having maintained the farmhouse on Skogsoy for some years.    It lies directly across the Skogsoysundet channel from the old Boathouse No. 2 on Skogsoy.

In the old days before cars and roads came out to the area, and everyone traveled by sea, this was the Pedersen family's main landing point on land.  This was the focal point where the cows and sheep would come down from grazing the hills to be milked each day in the summer time.   The little shore area along the boathouse is where the cows and sheep were loaded into the rowboats each fall to be rowed across the channel to the island to spend the winters on the island and in the large barn next to the farmhouse.

All the main paths in the area came to this point to embark on the boats to cross the channel to the boathouse and farmhouse on Skogsoy .

However once Grandpa gave Einar Haaland this land, Einar's friendship and looking after things stopped... and Einar started coveting and helping himself to more and more of the land.

When Uncle Ted moved to Norway he saw how bad it was.   My father Ole and Ted wrote Einar many letters addressing the tresspassing... that grew to such a degree that it even entailed blocking our family free use of our own land.

Einar was not given permission to gate off and create a private driveway to his land, but was expected to park in the parking area on the road.

When it was suggested that if more markers be placed to better define the exisiting markers... in a slick move of deception, Einar moved the markers!

In 1996 Einar Haaland added 107.4 m² = 1156.043 ft²  (1156 ft² and 6.33 in²) to his land.    Einar did not have permission to add this land, Einar was not given the land and Einar did not buy the land.   Einar and Anny Haaland stole the land.

Between the maps of 1977 and 1996, the red arrows show the difference of how much land that Einar and Anny Haaland added.
